Who we are
Georgia Lavey, LCSW
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York, Colorado, and New Jersey, Georgia has extensive experience as a multi-disciplinary social worker, specializing in psychotherapy, program development and implementation, data management and analysis, public education and the family court and child welfare systems. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2012 (Sko Buffs!) and acquired her Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University in 2020. Georgia has worked in various clinical, public and non-profit settings. This includes five years in private practice, three years in a Newark Public school establishing a mental health clinic for students from the ground up, and 10 years a Hudson County CASA, a non-profit organization providing advocacy in Family Court for children in foster care. Now Founder and Clinical Director of Prospect Park Therapy - a Brooklyn-based private practice - Georgia’s spectrum of experience working with individuals, children, and families of diverse backgrounds lends to her broad understanding and deep appreciation of the prismatic depths, challenges, and abilities of people. Her expertise and passion is people… believing in and holding them accountable for the *best* versions of themselves.
